January, 2010Progress Report 110 Villas Completed (or very close), 7 Villas under construction, 7 Villas scheduled to resume construction Palma De Roca Beach Bar Red Frog Beach Bar Point (Boardwalk) Kayukos Restaurant and Island Lounge Activity Lounge - Complete Phase I of the Marina Complete Bocas Bound - Surf Lodge and Hotel Complete Tropical Garden: Over 50 types of indigenous plant and tree species have been planted at the Marina Welcome Center. These plants include edible items such as passion fruit, star fruit, coffee, and amazon tree grape. There are also a number of plants that give off pleasant aromas that visitors will enjoy (these scents also help repel bugs). Heliconia & hibiscus should bring many birds and frogs to visit. Images show assembly of dock sections, work being performed, previous conditions, and new fill for marina access and Marine Village area. (images 1-8) Progress Report 2 Repair in Villa 53. Work is being performed in the form of replacing damaged and defective material due to deterioration/decay and/or defective and/or poor workmanship, due to installation previously performed. New material installation and continuing process and finishing of construction is being performed in order to deliver a fully finished product. Images show repair of denseglass with new one in exterior walls, replacement of damaged material such as new drywall and windows of the interior walls, repair of fascia, replace of all drywall soffit with denseglass and stucco, new windows, new doors and tiles on patio, interior work being performed, and recondition of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing. (images 9-17) Progress Report 3 All demo work done for Villa 57. Work is being performed in the form of replacing damaged and defective material due to deterioration/decay and/or defective and/or poor workmanship, installation previously performed. New material installation and continuing process and finishing of construction is being performed in order to deliver a fully finished product. Images show recently replaced baseplates, new metal elements replaced, previous shething removed, new denseglass recently installed in exterior walls, rust removed from interior walls, installation of Plycem boards, replacements of valley with custom designed metalwork, installation of improved-custom designed fascia, new soffit, new stucco, soffits with new roofing as well as windows and vents, pvc windows, original location of meter/circuit breaker box at 12', new location of meter/circuit breaker box at correct height. Progress Report 4
An artist's rendering for Bocas Bound - These were the worker's quarters that are now planned to become an Eco Lodge.
An older picture that shows the location of Bocas Bound (circled in black). Consists of three separate buildings that each have eight rooms.
This is the first structure being built at the Marina Village. This will be used as the Red Frog Welcome Center.
Laying thatch on the Red Frog Welcome Center. Will have a screened patio and vaulted ceiling.
Six-sided Marina Village Courtyard that will be laid with pavers.
Marina Pier is 12 feet wide and extends a long way into the bay; the Laterals are 8 feet wide; the Fingers are tapered towards the end of the individual slips.
Main pier that floats out into the bay. The marina structure is aluminum and the decking is a durable material that is not too slippery when wet called timbertech
